The Pukeiti Rainforest Centre project transformed the historic Gate Lodge into a modern visitor facility designed to welcome and educate visitors to one of New Zealand’s most celebrated rainforest gardens.
The redevelopment included new educational spaces, hospitality facilities and conference areas, all carefully integrated within the existing building.
Working closely with designers, consultants and iwi representatives, Street & Cook helped bring together a facility that balances functionality, sustainability and cultural significance.
The completed centre provides visitors with a welcoming gateway to Pukeiti and stands as an example of thoughtful construction within a unique natural environment.
