Te Huhi Raupō is a landmark healthcare facility located at Taranaki Base Hospital, designed to provide modern dialysis treatment and support services for the Taranaki community.
Street & Cook delivered the specialist carpentry package for the award winning project, working alongside Leighs Construction on a facility recognised for its innovative design and world leading sustainability credentials. Designed by Warren and Mahoney, the 806m² building spans a native planted gully and incorporates locally sourced mass timber, solar energy systems and rainwater harvesting technologies.
As the first healthcare facility in Aotearoa New Zealand to achieve international Zero Energy and Zero Carbon certifications, the project demanded exceptional attention to detail, quality workmanship and close collaboration throughout construction.
The completed facility provides a welcoming and supportive environment for patients while setting a new benchmark for sustainable healthcare design and construction in New Zealand.
